Very important - This is pretty much the same book...

... as the original. There are times when a book needs to have masculine packaging before some men will pick it up. I believe that is the idea here. So this is a book that you would purchase to give to that guy who could really benefit but would probably not care for the original cover, etc.

Great Book To Strengthen Every Relationship In Your Life

I have been dying for a good book. Everything I have in my arsenal is self help, inspirational type books and I was trying to find something different. My friend just started reading this in hopes of helping her relationship between her and her fiancé and she said I should try it. Then a friend posted on FB about it. This seems to be the trending book.

I ordered the paperback copy because I love to read an actual book. I'm on my phone / tablet enough as it is. I started reading this Saturday night and I couldn't put it down. It is so insightful. I jumped right to the back and took the quiz to see which Love Languages mine are. I was a little surprised at the results, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Now that I know my Love Languages, I can focus more on learning about those areas, but also focus on the areas where I didn't score as high.

Knowing your love language will help to strengthen your relationships around you. Not just your relationship with your spouse, significant other, etc, but with friends and family as well.

It's great to read this book with your partner too and have them take the quiz because then you can learn each other's Love Languages and satisfy their needs in a way that they need to be met based on their personal love language and vice versa.

The information in the book is not boring. It's incredibly insightful and so helpful, especially if you are struggling in any relationship or you are just trying to love yourself better.

Great read; quick summary in my review.

I thought this was a pretty good (and quick and easy) read. I found it really eye-opening in terms of all relationships (not just romantic). It made me think a lot about my friendships and even my relationships with my children and how I show all these people in my life that they are cared and loved for. It also made me think about how other people might be showing that they care for me, but maybe it doesn't show the way I'd expect it to. I can't say that it'll be life-changing for everyone, but I think it's a good read for anyone as a means of helping them understand why sometimes, they might do something for someone, and that other person just doesn't see the value in it and vice versa. Sometimes it might be tricky to find out another person's love-language without quizzing them or digging really deep. And if you're hoping to strengthen any kind of relationship, I think it's good if both parties are on board with learning to reciprocate and understand the basis of these ideas.

I don't necessarily think you have to read the entire book to get the gist of it, either.

The 5 Love Languages (you can find this on the official website, too) are:
- Words of affirmation (compliments, praise, etc.)
- Acts of service (doing dishes/laundry/cooking/etc. for a spouse)
- Receiving gifts (Pretty self explanatory. This could be as simple as picking up your friend's favorite candy bar and randomly giving to him/her. Don't think this means you have to be dropping diamonds in your wife's lap every week.)
- Quality time (Also explanatory. Could be as simple as watching TV together quietly with your loved one.)
- Physical touch (Calm down, this could be as simple as holding hands or quick contact in passing.)

We often feel the most love when our particular love language is expressed to us and we also have tendency to use that love language on everyone else. But that's not what speaks the most to everyone. Learning other people's language can help you express your love for someone else in a much more effective and powerful way than just using what works best for you. As I said, this applies to all relationships! Learning this concept made me really think about my children and I knew right away which language spoke the most volumes to my four year-old and I try to consider this as much as possible in my daily interactions with her. Discussing with my husband which languages spoke the most to us gave us a better understanding of what has the most impact on each of our perspectives on our relationship.

Anyway, great concept overall and I found it to be very insightful as far as opening up my eyes to how others have expressed their feelings for me and how I can effectively reciprocate my feelings for them.

This book has all the power and integrity of a sold out beliver in Christ that wants true worshippers to have all the access possible to God. The book was more than what I bargained for. If you think you really understand the scripture on to "guard your heart with all diligence. For out of it flows the issue of life" then you may want to test yourself and read this book. This Singaporean brother truly expresses his heart on how to place and guard our own heart in life's battles and joys.

A Great Resource!

I have just started my pulmonology residency and I have to say this book is a life-saver! It is a great resource. It has everything in a concise, srtaight-foward manner. It has helped me out of many a Grand Rounds jam. I highly highly recommend this book.

Highly recommended for doctors

While this book is written primarily for respiratory therapists, it is equally helpful for medical residents. I work in ICU as a resident and have been looking for a good book that explains mechanical ventilation well. This book is excellent for that purpose. This book explains a lot of the nuts and bolts of mechanical ventilation. These detailed information is often lacking in most critical care textbooks. And yet, as MDs, we are supposed to know them when we care for our patients. This book provide those vital information so that we can manage our ventilated patients competently and confidently. The chapters are very well organised. It builds basic concepts progressively in a systematic manner. The graphs and diagrams are excellent to assist understanding. The clarity of the text is also impressive. Most things are very well explained. The sign of a good text book is often reflected by the fact the complicated mechanism are explained by simple sentences. The author does it particularly well. This is a great book for any resident who works in ICU or ED.

Foundation Knowledge for Clinical Engineers

This volume has much to recommend it but I will focus on just two.

Firstly, it contains a clear description of the types and variation between current (and earlier) devices that enables a Clinical Engineer to better understand the pros and cons of a given device selection. There are illustrations and discussions of a variety of device designs complete with basic internal diagrams as well as breathing circuits. Do you want to see a respirator made in a jam tin? Then this is the book for you.

Secondly there is a wealth of clearly explained clinical detail to ensure the subtleties of this important and complex topic can be understood by a Clinical Engineer. I found the discussions on the techniques used in home (or long term) ventilation particularly enlightening.

I believe it will make a welcome addition to any Clinical Engineer's professional library.

Great deserts and low fat tooo!!!!!!

I loved the first book "Small Woman Big Skillet" with all it's great dishes so much I had to try the desert book! OMG, low fat donuts!!!! I love the Apple fritters, Chocolate chip cookies, Pistachio ice cream and LOVE the powdered donuts. Can't wait to try the rest!!!!

The best Low Fat Dessert book Ever !

I have the first cook book it helped me loose 89 pounds !!! Now she has a dessert book out and it is wonderful!! I tried Cranberry Orange cake, Chocolate Cake, Lemon Bundt Cake, Pistachio ice cream, Peanut Butter Cookies . They were all wonderfully tasty . The instructions was easy to fallow and nothing strange to get , most of the ingreadeance I had , this is by far the best low fat desserts I ever had and was fun to make , makes the house smell great !!!!!!

Sweet tooth it is!!!

Once again this author Tina Warren has outdone herself!!!! I am not much of a sweet tooth because I love her other book and have managed to keep my blood sugar at a normal level. But the recipes in the Small Woman, Sweet Tooth are so easy to make you will start with the beginning of the book and end up doing them all!!!. I have stuck with just doing the donuts, especially the glazed one's..YUMMMM!! Now there is no reason to have a piece of your favorite dessert. I highly recommend it for everyone!!! Can't wait to see what Tina comes up with next?-)
