A compelling story, well-told

I wasn't familiar with the Buffalo Creek disaster before somebody recommended this book to me, as it happened before I was born. But Stern captures the magnitude of the disaster and its effects on the victims and their families in such vivd detail that it comes to life. Even the legal complexities of the case are a compelling part of the story as Stern and his team of lawyers and staff try to hold a corporation responsible for one of the worst disasters in coal mining history. Stern's motivation to win the case comes through clearly, yet never overwhelms the survivors' story. The book is well worth a read.
